Adobe Box Copy Software-Departmental/Student/Personal Use: Departments, students, faculty, and staff are able to purchase Adobe box copy software. Customers will be limited to one copy of each individual product. These products are not returnable.
Adobe Software-Departmental Use: Departments are able to purchase Adobe licenses and media at volume discounts. All licenses are perpetual and will not expire. These licenses are for use on departmental machines only and are not returnable. Some licenses are now offered as Mac/Windows licenses. This means that when you purchase one license, it can be used on either one Mac machine OR one Windows machine. You can not use these to license two separate machines (one Mac, one Windows). Please purchase one license for each departmental machine that will be running the software. Contact the Site License Coordinator for assistance with licensing.; If you are an MSU faculty or staff member and would like to obtain a license for Adobe Presenter, please contact the DLS Help Desk.

Installation Information

Adobe Box Copy Software-Departmental/Student/Personal Use: The software comes in a box with everything you need to install and activate the software. Insert the CD and follow the on screen instructions.

Adobe Software-Student/Personal Use: The student software comes in a box with everything you need to install and activate the software. Insert the CD and follow the on screen instructions.

Upgrades

Adobe Box Copy Software-Departmental/Student/Personal Use: Upgrades are not available.
Adobe Software-Departmental Use: Upgrade Plans are only available with the purchase of a new license. You must purchase one Upgrade Plan for every license that you purchase. The plan will provide you with automatic upgrades to new versions of the license you purchased for a set amount of time. You will receive a coupon directly from Adobe when you are eligible for a free upgrade after a new software version is released. Upgrade Plans that are purchased after April 1, 2010 will be valid until March 31, 2012. At that time, you can choose to renew it for another two years. Prices will be pro rated every six months as the contract progresses.
Adobe Software-Student/Personal Use: Upgrades are not available.

Concurrent licenses are not available.

Adobe Software-Departmental Use

Adobe offers concurrent licenses for most of their products that are available to departments. Concurrent licenses are only for use in a public lab environment. You are allowed to use up to the number of licenses you purchase at one given time. For example, if you purchase 2 concurrent licenses, only 2 machines in your lab can log on and use the program at one time. The benefit of concurrent licenses is that you do not have to license every machine that is in the lab, just the amount of users that will be using the program at one time. When using concurrent licenses, each machine must have a full install of the program on it and you MUST manage them with a license server (you must provide your own license server software).

Concurrent Licenses can not be used if you are in a virtual environment and are accessing a server for your software. Each machine that is using the license must have the software loaded on it.

Adobe Software-Student/Personal Use

Concurrent licenses are not available.

Home Use Provision

Adobe Box Copy Software-Departmental/Student/Personal Use: Users are allowed to install Adobe box products on a secondary machine (laptop or home computer) as long as it is not being used at the same time as the primary license.
Adobe Software-Departmental Use: Adobe licenses that are available for departments do have a home use provision. The primary user of the work computer has the option to install the program on a home computer as long as it will not be used at the same time as the primary license.
Adobe Software-Student/Personal Use: Users are allowed to install Adobe Student/Personal products on a secondary machine (laptop or home computer) as long as it is not being used at the same time as the primary license. Please contact Adobe at 800-833-6687 for a secondary serial number for the second installation.

Media

Adobe Box Copy Software-Departmental/Student/Personal Use: Media is provided with the license.
Adobe Software-Departmental Use: Licenses do not include media. Media can be purchased or downloaded (except for Acrobat, that must be purchased). Media part numbers are listed separately in the departmental price list. The downloads can be found at adobe.com. Download the trial version of the software and input the code you receive from the MSU Computer Store when prompted.
Adobe Software-Student/Personal Use: Media is provided with the license.
